My Journey  Steven McLendon was born on June 13, 1964, to the late Ruby Doreatha and John Carlton McLendon. He was the second of their three boys. Steve was so happy to have an older brother, Carl, and a younger brother, Kevin.  He attended John Adams High school. He was a member of the track team and in 1982, they won the State Championship.
