Ronald Reed Sr Obituary

With saddened hearts, we announce the death of Ronald Reed Sr.

Ronald Reed was born November 9, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to John Louis and Sally Reed. He was educated in the Cleveland Public Schools system. In 1952, Ronald joined the United States Army and fought for his country during the Korean War, being honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. After serving his country, Ronald married his childhood sweetheart Jean Callahan in 1956, they had four children: Lynn Reed, Ronald Reed, Jr., (Valerie-deceased) Katrina Marks (Minister Ray Marks). and Malcolm Reed. Ronald later married Eriestine Linen (deceased) who came with bonus daughter Andrea Linen. Together Ronald and Eriestine had two children: Kelly Linen and Dexter Linen. Ronald also has one other son, Soladeen Anderson.

Ronald worked for and retired from the City of Cleveland. Ronald

accepted the Lord under the guidance of the Late Reverend Ollie Williams of Leviticus Baptist Church. Ronald's nickname was "Kid". He was an avid Cleveland sports fan and an avid runner when he was younger. Ronald liked all forms of science fiction, he loved playing chess, playing pick up sticks, pokeno, trivia/board games and Gin Rummy (at which he shamelessly cheated), but only in jest. Anyone will tell you what an honorable man he was, and there's not a cross word to be said about him. Ronald was a jokester with an easy disposition. He rarely lost his cool. Ronald's greatest love was his family, immediate and extended. He could always be counted on to help anyone in need.

Left to cherish his memory are Jean Reed; his children; grandchildren: Mario Mendes (Shanon), Ahmad Griffin, Alonzo Griffin, Anthony Reed, Ashley Reed, Andre Reed, Gerald Stokes, Jr., Adrian Reed, Richaun Bunton (Clifton), and Richelle Gray (Georard); sister-in-law: Connie Reed (Obie): dear friends: James & Evelyn Dexter, Pearl Catchings, and a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ronald in death were his parents, sister: Goldie Reed, wife: Eriestine Reed; brothers: Jimmy Louis Reed (Valarie Callahan Reed deceased), Bertram Reed, and Obie Reed (Connie Reed), and daughter-in law: Valerie Reed (Ronald Reed Jr.)
