Marvin Callahan Obituary

Marvin Callahan was born September 11, 1938, in Cleveland Ohio to Elijah and Lillian Callahan. He was the 3rd of 12 children. Brother Malcolm Ashford and Sister Gloria Smith who preceded him In death. Survivor siblings: Sisters - Jean Reed, Sylvia Johnson, Sadie Anderson, Myrna Brown, Alana Callahan and Carmita Callahan. Brothers - Wesley Callahan (Angela), Karl Callahan (Robin), and Finley Callahan.

In Marvin's early adult years, he took the ownership of helping to provide for his younger siblings, with no complaints. His heart, full of compassion for helping his siblings didn't stop there. Marvin continued through life by helping others and sharing thoughts about home ownership and finances with those who looked up to him.

Marvin was a loving father of Five children. Eldest Son Calvin Callahan who preceded him in death. Survival children Daughter Corzetta McClain (Sam), Son Randy Callahan, daughter Cornisha Cardwell, and Son Marvin Callahan. Along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved him dearly.

He enjoyed being with his family. He had a love of cooking. Some of his favorite dishes he would cook and share with his family were pasta salads and he would make the best cheesecakes!

Marvin was a man of faith. Gave his life to the lord at an early age. He found love in telling his children and grandchildren about the Bible verses and how the verses were applied to everyday life. Marvin retired from JTL Steel in his early 60's. He continued to stay busy by volunteering for the church he belonged to. He also worked for the church daycare transporting children to and from daycare.

Marvin also had a love for sports and showed love to the home teams of Cleveland for football and basketball. He enjoyed watching the Browns and the Cavaliers while discussing the games with his loved ones. He also enjoyed dressing well! He took delight in his appearance and was quite well-groomed. Everything he wore was coordinated from head to toe.

Marvin leaves to mourn his daughters Corzetta and Cornisha, his Sons Randy and Marvin, his sisters and brothers, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, along with other family and friends.

He will greatly be missed but never forgotten.
