Rose Allen

Her Journey 

Rose Marie Allen was born November 19, 1951, in Kentucky to the late Benjamin and Mildred Ruffin. She was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended Jane Addams "All Girl's School where she graduated in 1968. 

Rose worked at Ohio Bell and was also a school bus driver for handicapped children. Rose later retired from the Cleveland Hanger Co. 

Rose married Emmett Lee Allen Sr. in July 1969. To this union three children were born. 

Rose was a loving mother and grandmother that will be truly missed. Rose was an outspoken person who would tell you what was on her mind no matter who you were. Rose loved watching scary movies just to be scared. Rose loved to dance and would hit that dance floor and break it all the way down... she had them "good" knees. 

Rose leaves to cherish her memory three children: James Earl Ruffin, Monique Michelle Allen, and Emmett Lee Allen Jr.; six siblings: May Ruth, Jackie Ruffin, Cora Ruffin, Linda Ruffin, Charlotte Ruffin and Rita Ruffin; three grandchildren from James Earl; six grandchildren from Monique Michelle; four grandchildren from Emmett Lee, and a host of great grands, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. 

Rose was preceded in death by her parents: Benjamin and Mildred Ruffin: her husband: Emmett Allen Lee; three brothers: Benjamin Ruffin Jr., Jimmy Ruffin, and James Ruffin; and one grandson: Devon Allen. 

Rose will be truly missed...she is forever in our hearts 

A  public viewing will be held on May 2, 2024, 8:30 AM Wake and 9:00 AM Service at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street, Cleveland, OH.
