Sister Yvonne Hannah, the daughter of the late Brother Arthur Warren and Mattie Bea Hannah, was born in Cleveland, Ohio at Mount Sinai alongside her twin sister Yvette on July 28, 1961. She graduated from Glenville High School and obtained her Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees from Dyke Business College in 1986, majoring in Business Administration and Marketing.
In December 2009, she retired from the City of Cleveland after 23 years of service in public utilities due to health issues. During her tenure, she began as a Customer Service Representative, progressed to a Unit Supervisor, and ultimately assumed the role of Assistant Administrator, overseeing 40 employees and customer service operations.
Apart from her professional endeavors, Sister Hannah's most cherished moment was the birth of her son, Franklin Evans Jr. She prioritized his well-being above all else and found solace in God's mercy, love, forgiveness, and grace. Her faith in Jesus Christ remained unwavering, as she acknowledged His faithfulness and unconditional love.
Yvonne's spiritual journey commenced in her youth when she joined Mt. Herman Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dr. R.L. Fuller on April 12, 1970. Throughout the years, she actively participated in various church ministries, including the Junior Choir, Angelic Choir, Messiah Chorus, Voices of Praise, Mass Choir. She served in administrative roles such as Announcement Clerk and Sunday School Secretary. Her commitment to serving others extended beyond the church walls, as she generously supported many charitable organizations aiding widows, orphans, and the less fortunate.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her aunts, Laura, Ella, and Virginia, and uncle Roy Jr. Yvonne's infectious laughter and compassionate nature endeared her to all who knew her. On Monday, February 10, 2025, she was called from labor to reward. In her absence, she leaves to mourn her devoted son, Franklin Evans Jr., siblings, Billy, Debby, Dwight (Renee), and Yvette; aunts, Williene Sledge of Cleveland, of Cleveland, Ohio; nieces and nephews, La'Shondra, Michael (Deonna), Lontia, Ohio, Marie Amison and Delois Robinson of Chicago, Illinois; uncle, Troy Robinson Brandi, Ray, Devin; great-nieces and nephews Brittany, Brandi, Michelle, Mykal, and Chauncey and Amiyah; great-great-nieces, Faith-Marie, Aliyah, and Riyan, cherished cousin Samantha (Donald), and a host of relatives and cherished friends.
Sister Yvonne Hannah's legacy of love, service, and faithfulness will be remembered by all who were touched by her kindness and generosity.
A public viewing will be held on February 20, 2025, from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street, Cleveland, OH. The Celebration of Life Service will be on February 21, 2025, 10:00AM Wake and 10:30AM Service at Mount Hermon Baptist Church 2516 East 40th Street Cleveland Ohio 44103.
