Verna Mae Lyle

Verna Mae Lyle was born October 8th, 1936 in Cleveland Ohio to Edward & Elizabeth Jones. She was the eldest of three children. Verna graduated from the Old East Technical High School and later Kings Skill nursing school in Cleveland .Verna worked a variety of different jobs as a Teacher's Aide at Quincy Elementary School, Security Monitor at 75 Public Square and various Child Care work. She loved working with kids; her last and most rewarding job was being a Bus Monitor with the Cleveland Public Schools. Verna accepted Christ at an early age: she attended Shiloh Baptist Church and later in life Gethsemane Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. 

She loved life and was so full of it too. She would lighten up and liven any room she would enter. Verna loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, dancing and going roller skating even when she was up in age she still wanted to go. This was one of favorite hobbies which she shared and always took her children and grandchildren. 

On Wednesday October 4th, 2023 she was called to her Eternal Rest. She is preceded in death by parents Edward& Elizabeth Jones .Her brother Edward (Bo) her oldest and youngest sons Lamont and Eric. She leaves to cherish her precious memories Her sister Evelyn Smith, Three daughters Marnett Lyle, Marcia Wright (Dwayne) Sheila Barclay (Frank) of Atlanta Ga, Son Jeffrey Lyle of Houston, Tx, 15 Grandchildren 14 Great Grandchildren 4 Great Great Grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and Many Many Many friends. 

Visitation will be on October 14 2023, from 1:30 PM to 2:00PM at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street (off East 71st and Harvard), Cleveland, OH.  The Celebration Of Life services will immediately follow at 2:00PM.
