HIS LIFE STORY 

Thomas Chester Miller, affectionately known as Tommy, was born on May 23, 1938, in Hat Springs, Arkansas, and passed away on March 21, 2026, in Cleveland, Ohio. He lived a life marked by love, hard work, creativity, and devotion to his family. Tommy was known by those who loved him as a handy and loving man whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and strength to every room he entered. 

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Olethia Miller, and by his siblings, Josephine Hall (Will), John Lee Miller, and Shirley Cremo. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life, and he carried the values of family, resilience that were instilled in him from an early age. He was a man who understood the importance of family ties and the lasting impact of a life lived with purpose and care. 

Tommy's life was deeply rooted in Cleveland, where he built lasting relationships and made meaningful contributions through his work and associations. He was connected with the Cleveland Play House, where he met the love of his life, Betty. Their meeting blossomed into a beautiful marriage in 1988, and they shared 38 wonderful years together. He also worked at the Cleveland Racquet Club, where his steady presence and dependable nature were appreciated by many. Tommy took pride in the work he did and, in the people, he met along the way, and he carried himself with dignity in every setting. 

Above all else, Tommy loved his family. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Betty Miller; his daughters, Shaquilla Moore, Toni Camero, Lisa Wells, Dora Watts and her husband Marvin, and Lanita Crawell; and his sons, Robert Miller, Kevin Miller, Steve Miller and his wife Joanne, Donald Gardner and his wife Jamela, Garland Peters, and Gregory Peters and his wife Nicole. He also leaves three bonus children, Fred Peters, Deborah Peters, and Jacqueline Chapman. Tommy was blessed with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, 

nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever hold his memory dear. He is also lovingly remembered by his dog, Prince Miller, who is still waiting for Tommy to walk through that door. His family's words speak to the depth of their love for him, and they will continue to carry him in their hearts always. 

Tommy had many interests that reflected his vibrant spirit and his appreciation for life's simple joys. He loved to draw and paint, and he found peace in fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors. Music, boxing, tennis, and other sports brought him enjoyment, and he followed them with enthusiasm. He had a special love for animals and treated them with kindness. Tommy also enjoyed playing Tonk for quarters, a game he knew well and approached with good humor and a competitive spirit. He was always ready to fix something around the house or take on a project, and he especially enjoyed working with electronic gadgets. His hands were rarely still, and his mind was always engaged in finding a way to make something better. 

Those who knew Tommy will remember his generous heart, his practical wisdom, and the steady love he gave so freely. He was the kind of man who could be counted on, whether to repair something, share a laugh, or offer encouragement. His life was a testament to the power of family, perseverance, and love. A Public Viewing will be held on April 10, 2026, from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street, Cleveland, OH. The Celebration of Life Service will be on April 11, 2026, with a 10:00 AM Wake and 10:30 AM Service also at the House Of Peace Funeral Home.
