Steve Nevada Chesney Sr. was born December 13, 1957, in Sanford, North Carolina to Nevada and Joyce Chesney. He was the second of three children born into this union. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Sandra Chesney-Gorham.
Steve married his high school sweetheart, Rhonda Wallace, on December 24, 1977, whom he met and courted from age 13. To this union two children were born, Steve N. Chesney Jr. and Shana D. Chesney.
Steve attended John F. Kennedy High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He later joined the U.S. military and is a United States Army veteran. During his early years he worked as a vehicle mechanic and later started his own business, “Chesney Painting Company” painting homes and doing home renovation throughout the greater Cleveland area.
In his spare time, he enjoyed his favorite pastime of fishing at the lake, he also enjoyed spending time with grandkids, watching football, playing cards, listening to old-school hip-hop music, dancing, and working on cars until his health declined in 2016. Throughout the last 7 years, he always looked forward to family visits and outings.
His most common phrase was "I’ll be there in 2.5" which those closest to him knew meant at least an hour. As his health declined further in the last 2 weeks of life, he was surrounded by family and passed away knowing that he was well loved.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Wife - Rhonda Dale Chesney, Son - Steve Nevada Chesney Jr (Yvonka), Daughter - Shana Dale Chesney (Mike), Daughter - Monique Bell Eddins, Brother- Frank Chesney, 18 Grandchildren, 5 Great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
