Stanley Albright Obituary

Stanley Joseph Albright was born January 25, 1947 to the late Daisy Frances and Stanley Albright in Cleveland, Ohio; the second child born to this union. He was baptized into the Catholic faith and attended St. Agatha Parish and Elementary School, where he was an altar server. He later attended Patrick Henry and Harry E. Davis Junior High Schools. Stanley attended Glenville High School and was a proud Tarblooder. He received his high school diploma in 1968 and attended The Ohio State University.

Stanley was an athlete who excelled at high jump. Funny enough, Stanley's entry into high jump was on a bet; a friend bet him a quarter that he couldn't clear the bar - he won that quarter and many more awards. Stanley competed at the local, regional and national levels with his junior high and high school teams. From 1968 through 1969, he competed with the Cleveland Striders, an amateur track and field team. Stanley was the first high school athlete in athletic history to clear seven feet in the high jump. He won awards at the Knights of Columbus Track Meet and Ohio Relays in 1971. In 1972, Stanley competed in the Olympic Trials. To date, he has standing national records for his athletic performance.

In the summer of 1967, Stanley met Carolyn Dukes while they worked as summer interns for the SNYC Program at Glenville High School. The couple married April 24, 1970. They welcomed two daughters to this union; Mylayna and Consuela. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage.

In September 1974, Stanley began work in City Operations at Cleveland Hopkins Airport. In December 1975, he left the City of Cleveland to join North Central Airlines, which became Republic Airlines and then Northwest Airlines. During his career with the airlines, Stanley was responsible for daily ramp service operations at Cleveland Hopkins Airport and was a regional trainer for fueling and de-icing with Republic and Northwest. Stanley's long career afforded him a second family through his airline coworkers. He remained employed with Northwest Airlines until his retirement in December 2006.

Stanley enjoyed music, travel, sports, and family. He participated in a weekly bowling league for many years. He was a remote sideline coach for the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Cooking was his passion, and the holidays were his time to shine. He enjoyed lively debate, and he debated to win. He loved history and politics. He mastered reading weather radar and was the reliable source for breaking weather conditions. Stanley had a quick wit, loved a good joke, and could make you laugh effortlessly. He was a protector and a provider who was determined to give his family the best life he possibly could. He was a humble man who tried his best.

On Sunday, February 11, 2024, Stanley entered into eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Steffen Albright. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Carolyn, daughters Mylayna and Consuela, sisters Maxine Taswell, Judith Albright, Kathleen (Ricky) Clark, Angela Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
