Shirley Ann Johnson Obituary

We are saddened to announce the transition of Ms. Shirley Ann Johnson.

Shirley Ann Johnson was born on November 20, 1965, to Mary Ann Johnson, who preceded her in death, and William Johnson. She was the third of five living children: Marcia, Mark, Shirley, Lenora, and Annette. Raised in a caring yet disciplined, God-loving household, Shirley learned early the values of family, faith, and perseverance - principles that shaped her life and the love she shared with others.

Shirley graduated from East Tech High School and continued her education through additional training and coursework as she pursued her professional goals. She approached every opportunity with determination and a desire to grow.

Shirley held many jobs throughout her life, each one reflecting her strong work ethic and her passion for helping others. Her first job was at Value City Furniture, where she worked faithfully and built lasting relationships. It was during this time, around 1989 -1990, that she met Jerry Beck. Their bond grew quickly, and together they built a loving partnership.

On March 5, 1992, Shirley welcomed her daughter, Jazmine Mone'a Johnson - a moment that filled her heart with immeasurable joy. Becoming a mother was one of Shirley's greatest blessings. She cherished having a daughter of her own, someone she could nurture, guide, and love deeply.

After Jazmine's birth, Shirley felt called to shift her career toward a field where she could make a meaningful impact. She began working in healthcare, serving in several facilities including Willow Park MetroHealth, and the Cleveland Clinic. Her compassion, patience, and dedication made her a natural caregiver. Shirley retired from the Cleveland Clinic in 2012 as a Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA), leaving behind a legacy of kindness and service.

Shirley's life was defined by love-love for her family, love for her daughter, and love for the people she cared for throughout her career. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and unwavering strength will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
