Qubie Rowe

The Life and Time of Qubie 

Qubie D. Rowe was born on January 11, 1945, to Thelma Andrews (Cox) and Ridgeway Andrews in New Brockton, Alabama. She was the sixth of seven children. Her siblings, Mary Neil McWorter, Gracie Edwards Williams, Audrey Williams, Mary Lois Hunter, O.D. Andrews, Joan Mitchell, and Bob (Juanita) preceded her in death. 

Qubie graduated from New Brockton High School before marrying the love of her life, Ulysses Rowe, in 1962. They then relocated to Cleveland, OH, in 1965, where they would reside for the remainder of their lives. This loving union lasted over 60 years, celebrating the birth of their three daughters, Teresa Rowe, Anqunetta Johnson, and Michelle Harrington. Qubie was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved her family unconditionally. 

Qubie was employed as a supervisor in the housewares department at Dillard's before retiring. She was also a faithful and devoted woman of God she joined Mt. Hermon Baptist Church on April 10, 1977, and was a faithful member 48 years. 

Qubie engaged in many hobbies she enjoyed, including sewing, cooking, shopping, beauty, watching soap operas, and spending time with her family. She was a very generous and kind person, always striving to assist others in need whenever the opportunity arose. 

Qubie is now in eternal rest with our Lord and Savior. She leaves to mourn her passing three devoted and loving children: Teresa Rowe, Anqunetta Johnson (Rufus), and Michelle Harrington (Dante'); grandchildren, Matthew Wilson (Migiwa), Aaron Peterson, Lauren Rowe, Christian Hall, Kaila Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Leah Johnson, Brianna Harrington; great-grandchildren, Melchiah and Moriah.

A Public Viewing will be held on November 6, 2025, from 3:30PM to 5:30PM at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street, Cleveland, OH.  The Celebration of Life Service will also be at the House Of Peace Funeral Home on November 7, 2025, with a 10:00 AM Wake and 10:30 AM Service.
