Paul Rondo Sr., age 76, was born on October 1, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio. Paul graduated from Kenston High School in 1967. He was awarded a basketball scholarship, but was drafted into the Army to fight in Vietnam.
Paul and La'Narda, along with their children, joined God's House of Prayer under the leadership of Bishop J.M. Shaffer in 1976. Paul received the Holy Ghost in 2000 and was later ordained a deacon. In his early years at GHP, Paul sang in the Men's choir and also served as an usher. True story, Paul, his friend Deacon Tell and brother-in-law, Deacon Dowdell would throw the unruly people out of the church, LITERALLY!!!!! Paul would make repairs around the church as he was an excellent carpenter, welder, roofer, mechanic, and painter.
Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years, La'Narda A. Rondo, his children: Paul Jr. (Ramona), Paul III (Monica), Candy (Antonio), Holly (Jermaine), MiMi (Jason), and Tekisha (Art). Grandchildren: Tre'Von, Maliyah, Jermaine Jr., Heaven, Tory, Key'Shon, Arieana, Aiden, London, Ethan, Carter, Merci Love, Journi Love, Paul IV, Ramone, Jerrmaine, Malaki, John Nowell, and Nolan. Great-grandchildren: Charli, Denver, Aryana, Kaeden, Aaron, Karter, Janiyah, Kingston, Journi, Keyara, Ambraya, Zaakai, and Kymani. Siblings: James Rondo Sr. (Betty), James Head Sr. (Becky), Aubrey, and Joe.
Paul was preceded in death by his son, Mark; siblings, Charles, Larry, Johnny, Evelyn, Betty, Freddie Mae, Peggy, Rosie, Lela, Claude, Mildred, and Arthur.
Paul will be remembered for loving his family, never meeting a stranger, nick-naming the people that he loved, being a fierce supporter/coach at all sporting events, and loving his church and pastors.
A public viewing will be held on March 27, 2025 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street, Cleveland, OH. The Celebration of Life Service will be on March 28, 2025, 9:30AM Wake and 10:00AM Service at God's House of Prayer Pentecostal Church, 2654 Woodhill Rd, Cleveland, OH. The Interment will Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH.
