Otis Jefferson Obituary

We are saddened to announce the transition of Mr. Otis Jefferson.

Otis Montell Jefferson, age 92, of Cleveland, Ohio, peacefully departed this life on March 19, 2026. Born in Ripley, Tennessee, Otis lived a long and meaningful life marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and a strong, enduring spirit.

Otis proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Following his military service, he built a hardworking career as a factory tow motor driver and also worked in the security field. He was known for his strong work ethic and his strength.

A passionate sports fan, Otis enjoyed watching games whenever he could. In his younger years, he was also recognized as a talented basketball player, a passion that reflected his love for sports throughout his life.

Above all, Otis cherished his family. He found great joy in spending time with his loved ones and took pride in guiding his grandchildren with words of wisdom, often reminding them to stay strong and never allow anyone to take advantage of them. His presence was a source of resilience, love, and encouragement.

Otis was preceded in death by his children, Debra, Otis Jr., and Dwayne Jefferson, and his sister, Ernestine.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Willie Mae Jefferson; his sisters, Molly and Geneva; his grandchildren, Shanika, Kiaira, and O'Darius; his daughter-in-law, Karen Jefferson; along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will continue to honor his legacy.

Otis will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his strength, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family.
