We are saddened to announce the transition of Ms Nicole Patterson
Nicole Patterson-Hammond, better known to family and friends as Nikki, was born on January 19th, 1981, and passed away on December 26th, 2024, leaving a legacy of boldness, warmth, and unforgettable memories. Nikki was the eldest of eleven, born to Phyllis Patterson-Brown, and brought joy and responsibility to Phyllis's world. She was blessed with two loving fathers whom she cherished and adored-her father Don Carter and Phyllis' husband, Mark Brown, who preceded her in death. Nikki was blessed with five beautiful children and two grandchildren: Jeremiah, Natalya, Elijah (who preceded her in death), Z'Niah,Taleaha, Jeremiah Jr., and Jazaria. Nikki is also survived by her husband, Vidal Hammond, with whom she found love and built a life together. Nikki and Vidal shared a deep bond and were together for nearly two decades before her passing.
Nikki was known for her contagious laugh, unique fashion, and a tense love for playing cards--often referring to herself as the best spades player in the family. Nikki's laugh was soul-warming--no matter the circumstances, her laugh alone could bring you joy. She will be remembered for how much she loved and cared for her family. If she loved you she would defend and protect you (ESPECIALLY JOE) with every fiber of her being.
Nikki is survived by those who loved her most, including her children, husband, Mom, family, and a wide circle of friends who will continue to cherish the memories they shared with her. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will live on in the stories, laughter, and love she left behind.
Rest in peace, Nicole. You've completed your journey. Although you will be dearly missed, we're so grateful for our time with you. You were Fierce, You were Funny, You were a Fighter, and a little messy too! We Love You Nikki! You shall wear a Crown.
