She enjoyed cooking and had a green thumb for growing flowers. She loved sharing time with her family and loved to decorate. Her specialty was folding napkins. She enjoyed teaching others. She always encouraged people to do what was right according to the Word of God. She always prayed with and for others on and off the job.

She attended other churches until she found her home church, St Mark Baptist Church in 1985, under the leadership of Pastor Earnest Kelley. She became a member of the Usher Board and served as the auxiliary president for a number of years.

If roses grow in heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for us, If Roses Grow In Heaven - Dolores Garcia Place them in her arms and tell her they're from us. Tell her we love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile, Place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile. But there's an ache within our hearts, that will never go away.
