Minnie Avery Obituary

Minnie's Life Story

Born on October 6, 1949, in Tuskegee, Alabama, to the late Elbert and Clara (Baker) Tripp, Minnie's life was a beautiful reflection of faith, family, and compassion. She was one of many siblings, lovingly connected to Johnnie Mae Tripp, Mary Scieal (Henry) Jones, Ronnie Tripp, Winifred Tripp, and her twin brother Eddie Tripp, who preceded her in death.

Faith & Education Minnie accepted Christ at an early age, and Jesus Christ remained her Lord and Savior throughout her life. She graduated from John Hay High School and later attended cosmetology school, preparing herself for a life of service, beauty, and care. Marriage & Devotion Minnie met the love of her life, Willie George Avery, and they were united in holy matrimony on November 28, 1970. Their union was blessed with three children: Phylis, Kevin, and Yolanda. Together, Minnie and Willie built a home grounded in love, compassion, and hospitality. Willie often said, "We are family," and Minnie lived that truth every day. Career & Service For many years, Minnie was employed at CNA Insurance Company until her retirement. She was known for her dedication, reliability, and warm spirit. Her Heart for People Minnie enjoyed bowling, playing cards, going to bingo, and entertaining family and friends. Her home was a haven - a place of warmth and welcome for anyone in need of rest or refuge. She never asked how long you would stay; her only concern was that you had somewhere to go and something to eat. Her generous spirit embodied the charge given by her mother: "No matter what, be there for one another." Her kitchen was always open. Her table was always set. Her heart was always full. Legacy of Love We thank God for the legacy she leaves - a legacy of love, faith, and hospitality. Her life reminds us that kindness is a ministry and that every open door is a reflection of God's grace.

On June 4, 2026, the voice of her Lord summoned her home. Minnie completed every assignment God placed in her hands, and now she rests in His eternal peace. A Message of Love To her loved ones and friends, she leaves this message: "Know that I am at peace. I am still with you in spirit, and my love for you will never fade away." To her first two grandchildren, Tenisha and Dimetrias, she lovingly says, 'Remember all the good times we shared". Those memories will remain with you forever. Do not be sad for the times we had together-rejoice in the love we shared. She leaves to cherish her memory: Sister: Marlene Tripp brother: Maurice (Evelyn) Tripp, Sister-in-Law Lillie Tripp (wife of the late Eddie Tripp) Continuing the legacy of their parents with love and unity. Children: Yolanda (Dimetrias) Williams, Phylis Williams, son, Kevin Hill Grandchildren: Tenisha Dukes, Dimetrias Williams Jr., Jermalow Winston, Great-Grandchildren: Twelve beautiful great-grandchildren, Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

'I love you - Mom, Granny, GiGi."
