Marguerite Benton, 77, of Oberlin, Ohio, was called from labor to reward on January 11, 2022. Marguerite was born to James Bernard and Minnie Bell Greene on February 20, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was one of the eldest children from this union and vowed at a young age to take care of her younger siblings and spent time doing so.
Marguerite was predeceased by her parents James Bernard and Minnie Belle Greene, siblings: Mattie Greene, Ronald Greene, Robert Greene, Terry Greene, Paul Greene, Sherman Williams, Frederick Greene, Mary Anne Johnson, Rebecca Trent, and Marie Greene. She is survived by her siblings: James Greene, Ollie Greene, Herold Greene, Allen Greene, Evelyn Howard and Ronnie Black, Marian and Mostafa Douma, Marlene and Sidney Smalls, Earl Greene and Donald Greene. She is also survived by her best friend Charlene Bibbs, Godson Mayor Justin Bibb as well as a host of other Godchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many children she taught for in bible school.
A public viewing will be on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street (East 71st and Harvard), Cleveland, OH. A Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022, 9:30 AM Wake and 10:00 AM Service at Temple Baptist Church, 1862 Noble Road, East Cleveland, OH. Interment will immediately follow at the Cleveland Memorial Gardens, 4324 Green Rd, Cleveland, OH.
Face Mask will be required for both Viewing and Funeral services.
