Lovelle Castleberry Obituary

We are saddened to announce the transition of Mr Lovelle E. Castleberry.

Mr. Lovelle Eugene Castleberry affectionally known as "Velle" was born to the union of Robert and Jacqueline Castleberry in Cleveland, Ohio on July 19th 1975 the 2nd eldest of 11 siblings. He accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at the age of 12 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor VJ Weathersby. Lovelle especially enjoyed Sunday School. 

Lovelle attended Cleveland Public Schools, he later became a career student, taking studies in countless subjects and gaining certifications through various schools and programs. Lovelle took special interest in Photography, Horticulture and CNC, He took Horticulture, while in high school with a program through Washington Park. Lovelle was a true "Green Thumb" he thoroughly enjoyed learning about plants and taking care of them, that it followed him into adulthood so much so, that he had an apartment full them. Lovelle was also an avid cyclist with over 30 bicycles; he enjoyed bicycle repair as a hobby as well... just give him a frame and he would turn it into a brand-new bike. 

Lovelle departed this life with his family and friends close by on Thursday February 19th, 2026. Lovelle is preceded in death by his Father Robert Castleberry Sr, nephew's Robert Castleberry, David Jessup, & both sets of maternal and paternal grandparents. 

Lovelle leaves to mourn his Mother, Jacqueline Castleberry Crayton, Step-Father, Michael Crayton. Four (4) Daughters Laquell, Jada, & Wynter Campbell and Brooklyn Castleberry of Erie, PA. Two (2) Bonus Daughters Ashley Campbell and Iterria Mason, 1 Bonus Son Damien Rickman. Four (4) Grandchildren; Addie, Anelle, Emily, and Papa. 

Seven (7) Brothers; Robert Castleberry Jr (Christy), Damien Castleberry (Elaine), David Crayton (Breanna), Anthony Castleberry, Johnathan Castleberry, Joshua Castleberry, and Brother/Uncle John Jefferson. 

Four (4) Sisters; Devyn Scott of Florida, Shelonda Castleberry, Ebony Chambliss, and Myia Crayton... And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Velle left an impression on all he met; he lived his life to the fullest and unapologetically. He will truly be missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him. As we are all saddened to say our last goodbyes, we can all take comfort in knowing Velle's impact on our lives.

A Public Viewing will be held on March 6, 2026, from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street, Cleveland, OH. The Celebration of Life Service will be on March 7, 2026, with a 10:00 AM Wake and 10:30 AM Service at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 12700 Corlett Ave, Cleveland, OH. Pastor R. W. Sales, Eulogist.
