Ladie Mitchell Obituary

Ladie B. Mitchell (Lady Bea) was born in Blytheville, Arkansas to the late Emmett and Eara Rufus on August 24, 1931. She was the fourth child born of twelve children.

They moved to Cleveland, Ohio, when Lady was three years old. She visited Cleveland several times with her paternal Grandmother before the actual move. They lived on East 95th and she attended Bolton Elementary School. Later, the Jamily moved to the Central/Scovill area, where Lady Bea attended Sterling Elementary School, Brownell Jr. High School, and John Hay High School. She furthered her education by attending St. Paul Institution for Nursing where she received her LPN Degree.

Lady Bea met ]. C. Mitchell through her cousin, Eddie Robinson. The two met, dated, and later were engaged. JC enlisted in the United States Army and Lady Bea relocated with him to El Paso; Texas where they were married. Their union would last for 71 years and from this marriage, four children were born: Dale, Sharron, Marnita, and Alita

Lady Bea had a passion for the sick and elderly and worked private duty for a short period. She also worked at World. Publishing Company until she took a position in 1971 at Mt. Simal Hospital as a lab technician. She remained there until her retirement in the 1990s. While working at Mt. Sinai, Lady Bes accepted a part-time position with the City of Warrensville Heights as a Clerk. She retired from this position in the early 2000s.

Lady Bea enjoyed listening to music, watching Western movies, and cooking delicious meals for her family. She loved being around all of her family and would not miss any event involving family gatherings.

She was a very classy lady and believed in having everything in order and organized. Her favorite pastime was shopping. Her smile would light up a room, but her wisdom made you adore her even more. She had many nicknames: Tim Chick", "Baby Bea" and "Mama Mitchell": however, the most infamous one was "MOOSEY BURGER the nickname she would call her eldest grandson, Darris This name would become her staple in the family,

Lady Bea was a member of Thee Dayspring Holiness Church of God, Cleveland, Ohio. She was very caring, had a lovely spirit and left a lasting impression on whomever she met. She spent time volunteering and dedicating her time to assisting family, friends, the community, and the church.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband: ]. C. Mitchell; three daughters: Sharron (Cleo) Reed. Mamita (DeWayne) Terrell, Alita (Timothy Cauley, five grandchildren: Tanika (Russell) Howard, Dorris (Tracey) Mitchell McKnight, Deonte (Shante) Terrell Leceron (Ricardo) Jackson, Tileonna Cauley, fourteen great-grandchildren: Rashid, Rashad, Anilyah, Aqeelah, Daysaun, Alissa, Darris, Jr., Amirah, Kiara, Deonte, Jr. Ricardo, Jr. Ryan, Maxen, Masen; six siblings: Corean, Huery, Bernice (Anderson) Owens, Brenda, Sharon and Lovie; one sister-in-law: Kay Rufus and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Lady Bea was preceded in death by one son Dale Mitchell, parents: Emmett and Eara Rufung four siblings: Robert T. Oleon, two twin brothers, Claude and Clyde and John three brothers-in-law: Ernest Germany, Charles Hall and James McCaleb,

A  public viewing will be held on July 6, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street, Cleveland, OH. The Celebration of Life Services will be held on July 7, 2023, 10:00 AM Wake and 10:30 AM Service at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 11115 Kinsman Rd, Cleveland, OH.

Face Mask Will Be Required For Services.
