Jerry Kirkland Obituary

Jerry L. Kirkland was born on September 17, 1952, to the late Grady and Rosa Jane Kirkland. As the fifth child of their union, he was raised in a loving family rooted in faith, strength, and unity. Jerry attended J.D. Thompson High School, in Alabaster Alabama, where he developed the warm and congenial personality that would accompany him throughout his life.

At a young age, Jerry returned to Cleveland and embraced the Lord as his Savior. His faith became a guiding principle that shaped his character and he expressed love towards others. In 2016, he retired from Cargil Salt Mine, having dedicated many years to his work.

Jerry was celebrated for his relaxed disposition and his joyous enthusiasm for life. He took pleasure in fishing, bowling, playing pool, laughing, and cherishing time with his family and friends. He was always eager to assist others and found happiness when surrounded by his loved ones.

Jerry entered into holy matrimony with his devoted wife, Pamela Kirkland. Together, they enjoyed 44 years of steadfast love-a union fortified by faith, perseverance, and divine grace. From this marriage, they were blessed with three children: La,Toya, Jerry, and Gerald Gunter.

From his first marriage to Martina Player, two daughters were born: La'Shonda K. (deceased) and La,Sonya K. Jerry was also a loving stepfather to Marcus (deceased).
