Jean Redd was born on July 26, 1937, to Fredrick Green and Emma Green. She graduated from Jane Addams with a nursing degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She worked for several hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio, for over 50 years. Upon retiring from the Cleveland Clinic, she continued her career as a private in-home nurse. She was married to Joseph Redd Sr. for over 50 years, and together they were lifelong members of the Spirit Of Ohio Elks Lodge. She served as the Daughter Ruler and held various other offices within the lodge.
Jean became a member of Temple Baptist Church on June 1, 1996, and was an active participant, serving on the Usher board for many years. She was also an active member of Ward 1, contributing to the community block watch for the Harvard Community Center.
Our beloved Jean Redd passed away on December 25, 2025. She was a devoted parent and loving spouse. She filled our lives with love, laughter, and kindness. She is survived by her son, Joseph C. Redd Jr.; daughter, Jacqueline C. Redd; two grandsons; three great-grandsons; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Public Viewing will be held on January 8, 2026, from 3:00PM to 5:00PM, with an Elks service starting at 4:00PM at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street, Cleveland, OH. A Celebration of Life service will be held on January 9, 2026, with a 9:00AM Wake and 9:30AM Service at Temple Baptist Church, 1862 Noble Road, East Cleveland, OH. Sedric D. Veal Sr, Eulogist. Interment will be at 1:30PM at the Ohio Western Reserve in Rittman, OH
