James T Chisler

James Thomas Chisler, age 70, passed away on June 7, 2025. Born in Evansville, Indiana, on September 4, 1954, to Evvie and Lawrence Chisler, James was a man of unique contrasts - loud yet contemplative. His towering stature of 6'8" naturally drew attention, but he could engage anyone in conversation, which truly captivated those around him. 

James had a presence that filled any room while maintaining an air of introspective calm. Regardless of the setting, whether it was a bustling gathering or a quiet café, he had an uncanny knack for making people feel at ease, effortlessly drawing out even the shyest individuals. 

James began his career at a phone company in Indiana, later unloading merchandise from tractor-trailers before transitioning to the healthcare field. His first position in healthcare was at the State of Ohio Psychiatric Hospital, followed by a role at Plasma Alliance. Most recently, he worked at the Centers for Dialysis Care. 

James had a passion for watching alien shows and sports; he seemed to know everything about them. He also enjoyed bowling. 

James is survived by his brother, Lawrence George Chisler; niece, Kendra Jones; nephew, Michael Wisdom; wife, Samantha Kaye Campbell-Chisler; son, Michael Drake Jr.; daughters, Jezea Nichole Chisler and Evvie Lauren Delvina Chisler; grandchildren, Michael Drake, Ariana, Raelyn, Anias, LunaFreya, and Enoch. 

James will be remembered for his talent for engaging anyone in conversation, his love for music, and the closeness he shared with his family and friends. 

James will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of warmth, kindness, and genuine connection will live on in the hearts of those he touched. 

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00AM on June 13, 2025, at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street, Cleveland, OH.
