Geraldine Wilson Obituary

Geraldine Nickson Brown Wilson affectionately known as "Gerri B" was born November 20, 1944, in Florence, Mississippi to the union of Dewitt Nickson (Irene) and Earnestine Carter. She was the youngest of three children A.J. Jr. and Pamela. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. 

Geraldine moved to Detroit, Michigan as a young teenager and soon after moved to Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Dunbar Vocational High School in the city of Chicago. 

In 1961, Geraldine met and married Robert Brown. Their union was blessed with three sons; Antonio, Miguel and Tadario. In 1967 she met Lemuel Wilson and was blessed with another son, Jomo Wilson. Geraldine moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1968. In 1975 she moved to the beautiful Shaker Heights, Ohio. 

In January of 1976 she joined Mt. Hermon Church under the pastorate of the late Dr. R. L. Fuller. She was a faithful member for forty-eight years. A tither, and participated with the Mother's Crusade of Prayer. 

She worked in the Community Development Department for the City of Cleveland. Soon after she received her license in cosmetology, and became a teacher and manager. Gerri B opened a recreation lounge in the early 1980s. 

Geraldine believed in education and attended Cuyahoga Community College and received a Certification for Secretarial Skills and Development as she continued pursuing education and training until 2019. In 1994, she became the first African American Bail Bonds person in the greater Cleveland area. She later worked as an office manager for her son, Antonio Brown Bail Bonds and Insurance. She was also known for throwing her extravagant Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. parties yearly. 

Geraldine departed this life on Thursday, August 15, 2024 She leaves in mourning three sons: Antonio (Leslie), Miguel Dewitt (Yolonda), Jomo (Rachel); one daughter-in-law widowed: Tanyia; one sister: Pamela Yates (Bruno); eight grandchildren: Lashawna, Sierra, Martina, Kareem, Miguel, Jr., Taryn Geraldine, Mercedes, 

Asha and a host of great-grandchildren and bonus grandchildren; a very special goddaughter: Dr. Sherri Lynn Peavy, PhD.; a love daughter: Linda Jean Bennett; special friends: The Jackson Family, The Gamble Family and her best friend: Dr. Willa Hemmons, Attorney at Law. 

Geraldine was preceded in death by her brother: A. J. Jackson, Jr. and son Tadario. 

Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched, the memories she created, and the love she shared. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but her spirit will forever be with us, guiding us and watching over us. 

A public viewing will be held on August 29, 2024, from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street, Cleveland, OH. The Celebration of Life will be held August 30, 2024 with a 10:00AM Wake and 10:30AM Service at Mt Hermon Baptist Church, 2516 E 40th St, Cleveland, OH
