Douglas Sullivan Obituary

Douglass B. Sullivan, lovingly known as "Doug," was born on Apr 26, 1953, in Starkville, Mississippi, to the late George and Minnie Sullivan. As a young man, Douglass relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, where he attended Shaw High School in East Cleveland, graduating with the class of 1971. Following his graduation, Douglass proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After two years of dedicated service, he was honorably discharged and returned to Cleveland to begin the next chapter of his life.

Douglass embraced the opportunities and challenges life presented. He was the proud father of two children, Tamika Moore and Dionandre Holsey, and was deeply devoted to his family. Known for his love of family and zest for life, Douglass explored many professional paths but ultimately found his passion in working for himself. His talent for automotive work became one of his greatest joys, and he was known for his skill and dedication in that field.

Beyond his work, Douglass enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: spending quality time with his grandchildren, traveling to the South, savoring a cold beer, and listening to his favorite old-school music. On December 9, 2024, at 2:33 PM, Douglass peacefully gained his wings, surrounded by a host of loved ones, following a courageous battle with cancer. He is now reunited with his parents, his older brother Robert Sullivan, and his sister Beverly Gaines.

Douglass leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He is survived by his four brothers: George, James, Donald, and Michael Sullivan; three sisters: Carol, Deborah, and Andrea Sullivan; four grandchildren: Jalessa Anderson, Wynter Holsey, Porsha Anderson, and A'amari Holsey; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Douglass B. Sullivan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his spirit and love for life will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
