Cheryl Bloodworth Obituary

Her Journey

Cheryl De'Lois Coleman-Bloodworth was born February 13th, 1955 in Cleveland. Ohio to Mamie Coleman (Gaffney) and Bryant Perry (both preceded her in death). Cheryl was the oldest child. Her brother Mark Rogers preceded her in death August 23, 2022. Her brother Anthony Gaffney and Sister-in-law, Linda Gaffney are her remaining siblings.

Cheryl attended Longwood Elementary School. Central Junior High and Jane Adams Vocational High School. She graduated from Jane Adams in 1973 and her trade of choice was Dietary Technician. If you knew Cheryl you knew she loved to cook and could cook very well.

Cheryl began her working career at the Higbee Company in 1973 where she worked in the Accounting Department until 1984 She worked as a Day-Care provider because she loved kids and had a special way with them. Later she began her very successful career with the Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS). She rose in ranks to a "Lead Accounts Payable employee. Her level of skill promoted her to being a special trainer of new employees. She had planned to retire in the very near future.

On November 24th, 1984. Cheryl married Archie Bloodworth (deceased July 4th 2014). Everyone loved Cheryl and Archie. Their home was an open door for all. Cheryl instantly became a mother to Cristal. Curtis. Shane (Carmen) and, Archelle. She created a very special bond with her children.

Cheryl's life priorities were God, Family. Friends and Work. More than anything she devoted her entire life to serving God.

She started attending Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in 1962. and became an official member in 1971. She was baptized and would serve there for the rest of her life. Her grandparents. Eugene and Corrine Coleman were members of Mt. Hermon. Grandma Corrine made sure Cheryl and her cousin Deborah attended church with her almost every Sunday. Cheryl could still quote some of her Easter speeches that she had to deliver on Easter Sundays

Archie joined Cheryl as a member of Mt. Hermon and there they faithfully served together. Archie became a Trustee and Cheryl had the honor of becoming a Trustee's wife. Cheryl served in many organizations as Vice President or President which included the Sanctuary Choir. Mass Choir. Mothers Crusade of Prayer, Voices of Praise, and Church Family Ministry She was a life-long choir member who always loved music and singing.

Family was extremely important to Cheryl and she would take the lead in many family events. She wanted to keep the family close and we would gather together often for food, family and fun in her home Everything she cooked tasted good. Being raised by her grandmother she learned to cook many different delicious meals. Her turkey and dressing was some of the best you would ever taste. She loved to bake pies and cakes. She even started her own small baking business.

She loved to go on trips and social events. Traveling with the Youth Organization and going to Amish country where she would pick up her baking supplies. She was actually planning to attend our family reunion the weekend of August 30th but the Lord had another trip planned for her.

Cheryl had a very special gift. She was tall, beautiful, intelligent and popular. She was gifted in relationships. She had a way of making friends for life and connecting with all kinds of people. She was a loyal person. Once you were in her circle she would never let you go.

Cheryl departed this life on Sunday. August 25, 2024

She leaves to cherish her memory four children: Cristal. Curtis. Warren Shane (Carmen) and Archelle; brother and sister-in-law: Anthony and Linda Gaffney, six grandchildren: Marvel, Rodneytra, Deshane. Warren, Marie and Noel, host of great-grandchildren one niece Mariah Rogers, cousins Marty (Ula). Janet Charlene (Dale 2007). Deborah (Larry). Harold (Teresa). John (Vera). Lawrence. Connie, Doretha. Lisa. Midget and Judy. Her entire church family, her Mississippi family and many, many more extended family members, co-workers and friends

So many wonderful things can be said about Cheryl. It would take a novel to tell the full story. But this is what she would want all to know Put God First She tried to live a life that was pleasing to Him because her number one goal in life was to hear these words...Well done thou good and faithful servant thou hast been faithful over a few things I will make thee ruler over many things enter thou into the joy of thy Lord" Matthew 25 21. She is now ruling and has the Joy of the Lord Well done, well done well done.
