Charles Edward Boone was borne on December 1, 1955 to the late Durwood and Margaret Boone in Suffolk, VA. He was the second of five children: Clois, Ronald, Timmie, and Rita. Charles was educated in the Virginia school system. He accepted Christ at an early age and was ordained a deacon at a church in his hometown.
Charles loved to sing and found music to be an inspirational comfort throughout the years. He began playing guitar as a teenager and started a band in high school. He than began singing with the Southernaires in Virginia. He love for music continued and as a result, he was to travel across the country singing with major Gospel groups. He was also a music promoter, skilled at connecting people, promoting events and concerts. He performed promotions for popular Gospel artists like Keith "Wonderboy" Johnson and Doc McKinzie to name a few. After founding B & B Productions, he managed the New Harpette Singers, facilitating their travel to many cities to spread the gospel through song.
He married Barbara Dorsey in 1997. In that union he became the devoted father of three children. He was an active member of several churches after Cleveland, Ohio his home.
Charles was full of life and most certainly a child of God. Very boisterous, his style, his presence, and humorous remarks livened up every room he occupied. He was a mentor, father figure and protector to family members and friends. Charles enjoyed laughter and conversation. He was able to converse with everyone, captivating them with his country drawl, comedy, and wit. Charles told it like it was, whether you liked it or not. He was the glue that held the family together.
Charles loved music! His favorites were blues, gospel, quartet, and traditional hymns. His favorite hymn was "When the Gates Swing Open." He enjoyed fishing, hunting, doing home repairs, family gatherings, talking smack, and spending time with friends wherever they gathered. He loved taking care of those he loved. He has a host of godchildren that he treats like his very own.
Charles stayed connected with everyone, even his children's friends! He was a serial Facebooker. Yet, his family was the center of his world. His wife and children were the beat of his heart. He was very loving, supportive of all their endeavors and would do anything to ensure their happiness and well-being, often putting them before himself.
On Saturday, October 1, 2022, Charles answered the Lord's call , being taken from labor to reward.
Charles E. Boone leaves to cherish loving and unforgettable memories, his wife, Barbara; three brothers: Clois Boone (Claudine), Ronald Boone (Pearl), Timmie Young (Demetria); one sister: Rita Elsey (Charles), cherised father of Ra-Deon Sledge (Frederick), Vernica Kirkland and Cleveon Kirkland; three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, godchildren, family, and lifelong friends.
A public viewing will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street (East 71st and Harvard), Cleveland, OH. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, 1:00 PM Wake and a 1:30 PM Service at Mt. Zion Fellowship Church, 4265 Northfield Rd., Warrensville Hts Ohio 44128. Interment will immediately follow at the Cleveland Memorial Cemetery.
