Carol Lauderdale Obituary

Carol Ann Lauderdale was born on March 3, 1954, to Will D. and Ethel J. Burton. She was the sixth of seven children born to this union.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Will D. Burton Sr.; sister, Gloria Evans; and brothers, Jerry Burton and Will Burton Jr.

At an early age, Carol accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, where she joyfully served in the choir, the nursery, on the junior usher board, and as a deaconess.

Carol was a proud graduate of John Adams High School and The Ohio State University. While attending Ohio State, she met the love of her life, Dallas Lauderdale, and the two began a beautiful journey together. They were united in marriage in 1980, building a partnership rooted in faith, laughter, and unwavering devotion that lasted more than four decades.

Carol and Dallas shared a bond that was truly special and marked by deep friendship, mutual respect, and unshakable love. She stood faithfully by his side through every season of life, always his biggest supporter, confidant, and encourager. Together they built a home filled with warmth, jo,y and love.

Carol was a devoted wife and loving mother who had a voice like an angel and a heart full of compassion. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she found her deepest joy in being a mother to their two children, Tahja and Dallas III.

Carol faced her battle with multiple sclerosis with remarkable courage & faith. Even as her body grew weak, her spirit remained strong and steadfast. She never allowed her illness to define her, but instead, she continued to inspire others with her strength and unwavering trust in God. Throughout every challenge, Carol's light continued to shine brightly, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Dallas Lauderdale Jr.; beloved daughter, Tahja E. Lauderdale; cherished son, Dallas Lauderdale III; loving mother, Ethel J. Burton. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Elores (Jim) Chones, Delores Sawyer, and Tyrone (Pamela) Burton; sisters-in-law, Anita (Larry) Arrington- Bey, Alfreda (Edward) Robinson, Patricia Bass, and Bernice (Harlan) King; and her adored pups, James and John along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and loving friends.

Carol will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her, but we find peace in knowing that we will see her again.

The Celebration of Life Service will be at the Fellowship Church Of God on November 6, 2025, with a 10:00 AM Wake and 10:30 AM Service.
