Carl Hitchcock Obituary

Carl Hitchcock was born on May 2, 1963 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was bom to the union of Charles Sr., and the late Marianne Hitchcock. Carl was the second oldest of four and the identical twin of Charles Jr., arriving seven minutes after his twin brother.

Carl attended Morelight Missionary Baptist Church where he accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized. He completed his education in the Cleveland Public School System attending Glenville High School, which probably explains his love for the colors red and black. After completing his education Carl decided he wanted to help those in need and began his lengthy career in healthcare.

In 1987 Carl met Crystal Nichelle Gosha and to this union two beautiful daughters were born, Ta'Shay Hitchcock and Najee Gosha. He later met his long-time love Shirley Barnes who he continued to share a special bond with until his passing.

Carl loved his family, music and singing. He often stopped by the homes of family members to sit and talk with them and to let them know how special they were to him. Carl always kept a song in his heart. During his young adult years he could be found working on cars and humming the tunes of, or singing what he called "Oldies but Goodies."

Carl demonstrated his love to others daily. He worked a great number of years assisting and caring for many including his mother until her passing in 2016. He was employed as a home care aide with Willcare, Almost Family, and Precious Home Health Care agencies until his passing.

Carl was a beautiful and loving soul. To know him was to love him. His face was always adorned with a smile that would light up any room. He was a giving and selfless person who would help anyone in need with no hesitation. Carl lived his life to bring joy to others around him. He will be missed but his spirit will remain with us always.

With family by his side, Carl transitioned from this life at the South Pointe Cleveland Clinic Hospital on Tuesday November 21, 2023 after a lengthy battle with congestive heart failure. He will be missed but his spirit will remain with us always.

Carl was preceded in death by his mother, Marianne Hitchcock. His life will live on in the hearts and memories of his father: Charles Sr.; daughters: Ta'Shay Hitchcock and Na'Jee Gosha; brothers; Charles Jr., Kenneth (Terricia), Jamel (Tracy), Brian (Nakia) and Tyrone Shadiyah, sister, Carolyn; two grandchildren: Luke Moore and Luna Harris; aunts: Velma Byrd Young and Ruby Royal; uncle: Charles Byrd and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
