Barbara Jamerson Obituary

Celebrating the Journey of Her Majesty

Barbara Jamerson

-BETTER KNOWN AS JOJO-

Born March 22, 1956,

Barbara was a woman whose presence was felt the moment she entered a room,  And whose love will be carried with us forever.

Her vibrant spirit

Jojo was an M-80- a firecracker in human form. Bold, powerful, and impossible to ignore. She was no-nonsense and unapologetically herself, always speaking her truth and standing firm in who she was. She didn't sugarcoat life, but she faced it head-on, with humor, honesty, and heart.

She knew how to enjoy life. She loved a good time, a good laugh, and a good card game. Jojo also enjoyed gardening and growing her vegetables. Her joy was effortless, and her laughter was contagious. When Jojo laughed, everyone laughed. When she was present, you felt it.

Devoted Sister

The oldest sibling, Barbara, carried a special responsibility with strength and grace. She was protective, honest, and deeply devoted to her siblings. She spoke up when needed and stood her ground. And loved fiercely. Her bond with her siblings was beautifully built on loyalty. Shared memories. And a lifetime of connection.

A Loving Mother

But one of the greatest roles Barbara held was being a mother. She loved her children with her whole heart - fiercely, protectively. And without condition. She showed her love not just through words. But through sacrifice, guidance, and unwavering presence. She was strong when they needed strength, gentle when they needed comfort. And honest when life required it. Her children were her pride, her

Joy, and her legacy. Adoring grandmother

As a grandmother, Barbara's love only deepened. She adored her grandchildren in a way that was tender, joyful, and full of warmth. She celebrated them. Prayed over them, laughed with them, and held them close to her grandchildren. She was a source of comfort. Wisdom, and unconditional love -

A safe place wrapped in laughter and care

Service and Generosity

That same love she poured into her family showed up in everything she did, especially in the way she served others. Barbara had a servant's heart. She was always the one to help, the one to step in. The one to give without being asked. Whether through action, advice, or simply being there, jojo showed her love in ways that were genuine and selfless. Gathering around her table

And one of the most beautiful ways she expressed that love was through cooking. Jojo loved to cook. And through her meals, she brought people together. Her kitchen was a place of warmth. Conversation and connection. Her food was more than nourishment; it was comfort. Tradition and love are shared around the table. Woman of faith

Above all, Barbara was a woman of faith. She loved god, trusted him, and leaned on him throughout her life. Her devotion was steady and sincere, guiding the way she lived and loved. Her lasting impact

Jojo made us laugh. She made us feel seen. She made us feel loved. Though we grieve her absence. We celebrate a life filled with fire, faith, laughter, and deep love.

She may no longer walk beside us, but she lives on in our memories, our stories, and our hearts. Rest peacefully, Jojo.

Your fire still burns.

Your love still surrounds us.

And your spirit will never be forgotten.

Barbara is preceded in death by her mother Irene Jackson, and her grandchildren Larry and Charmaine. She leaves to cherish her memories: her two children, Dwayne and Yvettee.

Her three sisters (Kennette, Sharon, and Evonne) and four brothers (Ellis, Tyrone, Keith, Michael). Her two aunts (Reba and Helen).

Her grandchildren (Devonte, Dwayne, Jawuan, Larry, Elijah, and Irene).

Her great-grandchildren,

Her nieces and nephews and a host of family & friends.
