Arthur Killings, Sr. (known as Art), was born on November 27, 1935 to the late Roosvelt and Elizabeth Killings.
He was married to Clara Mixon and from this union two children were born, Arthur, Jr. and Daryl. Art accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He joined Moscow Baptist Church and sang in the gospel club known as the Golden Staff. He worked for Ferro Corporation where he retired. Art loved working on cars and was known for his famous barbecue sauce.
On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, Art made his eternal transition.
He is survived by Clara E. Killings of 60 years; one daughter: Mary Nell Kelly of Illinois; two sons: Arthur, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY and Daryl (Sheena) of Cleveland, OH; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters: Dellena Garner (John), Rosa Suggs (Eugene), Clora Burrell, Luedell Caffey (Harvey) all of Ohio, Rosetta Killings, Diane Killings and Abraham Killings all of Oregon; one aunt: Nettie Mack (Willie) of Alabama; special friend: John L. Daniel and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Art was preceded in death by one brother: Nelson "T Babe" Killings.
A public viewing will be on January 20, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street (off East 71st and Harvard), Cleveland, OH. The Celebration Of Life Service will be held January 21, 2023, 10:00 AM Wake and 10:30 AM Service at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street, Cleveland, OH., Sedric D. Veal Sr, Eulogist. The interment will be at Whitehaven Memorial Park, 615 Som Center Rd, Mayfield, OH.
