Aaniyah A Tate

My Story 

Aaniyah Nashae Tate was born December 25. 2007 to Ashley Tate and Anthony Ellis (who preceded her in death) in Cleveland Ohio. She was their first-born child as well as their Christmas gift. She was also her mother's only child. 

Her family and friends called her "Niya". She was a very loving and free spirited person who loved her family very much. She had an energy that was just unmatched. 

Due to her talent at drawing, she was accepted into the Cleveland School of Arts which she attended as well as Euclid High School. 

Niva was a very ambitious young lady and had hopes and dreams of becoming a YouTube influencer as well as an actress. Clark University in Atlanta, Georgia was her choice of school upon completing high school. 

Niya's hobbies included listening to music, drawing. artwork, writing poetry, doing makeup, and Henna tattoos which she had just perfected. Aaniyah will always be remembered for her infectious smile, her ability to dance, and her famous saying after every statement "PERIOD!!!". 

Christmas will never be the same with our beloved Niya. She was one of three family members who shared their birthday on December 25th. 

Niya departed this life on Saturday, June 1, 2024. 

Aaniyah leaves to cherish her memories: her mother: Ashley Tate; six siblings: Jasauni, Ava, Amarra, Gavin, Aiden, and Chase; two loving grandmothers: Jacqueline Tate and Vida Ellison; her loving grandfather: Anthony Williams; her great grandmother: Shirley Halbert; her great grandfather: Kenneth Halbert: loving aunts and uncles including Tiera Williams. Stephanie Williams (Ricky Polk) and Andrea Ellis: a favorite Cousin: Tajai Williams and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Aaniyah will be greatly missed.

A Public Viewing will be held on June 10, 2024, 4:00PM - 6:00PM at the House Of Peace Funeral Home, 4105 East 71st Street, Cleveland, OH. The Celebration of Life Services will be held on June 11, 2024, 10:00AM Wake and 10:30AM Service at Temple Baptist Church, 1862 Noble Road, East Cleveland, OH. Rev. Stephan Hazelhurst, Eulogist. Interment will immediately follow at Cleveland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. 4324 Green Road Cleveland, OH.
